Media Literacy Workshop at EEB1
EEB1 was delighted to host the Media Literacy Project on 30 Januray 2025 conducted by Dr. Alexander Warzilek, the president of the Austrian Press Association. This insightful workshop provided an invaluable opportunity for students to develop critical media analysis skills.
A total of 23 students from various S6L2 classes participated in the session. Throughout the workshop, they learned how to filter news, enhance their argumentation skills, and adhere to a structured protocol under a common code of conduct. The case studies used during the workshop were based on real-life scenarios from Austria and Finland, giving students a practical perspective on media literacy.
The event was organized by Ms. Lilyana Rangelova and Ms. Katya Petrochilou, English teachers and coordinators of the L2, L2A, L3 English department. Their efforts ensured a well-structured and engaging experience for all participants.
The feedback from our students was overwhelmingly positive. Many found the workshop to be engaging and enlightening, sparking enthusiasm for similar future initiatives. We look forward to hosting more such events to equip our students with essential skills in critical thinking and media evaluation.
Photos of the event were taken by Márton TÓTHI, a student from S6HUA.
